In class I shared my Grandmother's treasures which gave us a window to the past. What do you have at home that gives you an idea of the past?

  1. a grandfather clock what my great poppa made and my mum has my great nana's ring from when she was a teenager and my little sister has a dolls cot and doll house funiture that my great poppa made for my mum.

  4. When my Grandma died we were lucky and got to keep her couch that she used to use in her parlor lounge. This was the lounge used for the visitors. It has lots of patterns on it and has claw feet.

  5. My great grandma gave mum a doll that had orange hair like me. When I was a baby you could hardly tell us apart.

I remember the past because my family tell me lots of stories like the time when my Grandad Jim and sold lots of whitebait, he got lots of money and and on the way back to his hut he had to cross a river and he got stuck in it. Some people found him and pulled his car out, when he checked inside the boot his money was all floating.
    There are lots of stories about the olden days like that that my family tell me.

  13. We got cup's from nana Elva they are beautiful and shiny. They have got beatiful patterns on them and they are chinese patterns. The patterns are coloured rainbows. They have got plates that are shiny to. There is a hole set of cup's and plate's There are two plate's, one is for the cup and one is for the cookies or for a craker or for some fruit.
